Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Established in 1996, INFRA is the primary training centre for Ministry of Rural and Regional Development providing training in the area of management and leadership to its target groups. The training provided aims to empower the rural leadership, rural workers as well as development agents which subsequently will enable them to manage their villages and communities independently. This is in line with the objective of INFRA's establishment, which is to spearhead human resource development programmes for the rural areas as the primary focus under the Second Rural Transformation programme. INFRA also plays a role in research and studies related to rural issues in its efforts to improve the approaches and methodologies used in developing and managing the rural areas and its community.
In 1998, INFRA began its International Training Programme for officers from developing countries through experience and knowledge sharing approach specifically in the poverty alleviation context. INFRA also conducts various training programmes for member states of international organisations such as African-Asian Rural Development Organisation (AARDO), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) and the Commonwealth Secretariat (COMSEC). In addition, INFRA has also been appointed as a the training provider for developing countries under the auspices of Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP)which is fully funded by the Malaysian Government in line with the spirit of South-South Cooperation.
