RSS SYNDICATION

What is RSS?

RSS (also known as " RSS Feed", "Syndication" etc.) and from now on referred to as RSS) is a short form for Really Simple Syndication or RDF Site Summary (RSS 0.9 and 1.0) and is an XML application (Extensible Markup Language) following the World Wide Consortium (W3C) level of specification. It is a news syndication format and used as an agent to get news or data online from websites that supports this application.

Why is RSS necessary?

Technological advances in online publications have made work much easier not only in spreading the latest information on the web but also in tracing  the latest information of a numerous amount of your favorite websites without having to remember the URL address of the website or always having to clean up your e-mail.   • You are able to receive current information from INFRA fast and effectively.
  • The news or information received is the latest and most current and there is no necessity to go into the website.

There are many ways on how to use RSS services. The following are 2 ways often used:

1. To use the RSS Reader software
2. To connect directly to the internet browser - Used for Firefox and Internet Explorer version 7
